Seizing opportunities for recovery: $270,947 distributed on our territory

On June 28, the results of the Projet d’aide aux petites entreprises touristiques rurales (PAPETR)/Small Rural Tourism Business Assistance Project were announced for all Quebec regions. In conjunction with local chambers of commerce, our SADC is proud to have supported 12 organizations by distributing $270,947 in non-repayable contributions aimed at boosting tourism.

The aim of the PAPETR project is to support organisations wishing to improve their facilities and adapt or develop their products and services to meet customer needs.  On our territory, these contributions have made it possible to purchase equipment such as paddleboards, bicycles or skis; to enhance the customer experience by further developing outdoor trails or improving trail maintenance; and to make improvements to buildings or infrastructure.

Here are the businesses and organizations in the Laurentides and Pays-d’en-Haut RCMs which received a non-repayable contribution:

  • Attitude Montagne
  • Auberge Bistro Le Cheminot
  • Avalanche Plein Air
  • Domaine Saint-Bernard
  • Écho Aloha
  • Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur
  • Frisbee Canin Laurentides
  • Kayak Cabana
  • Passe-Montagne
  • Parc du Mont Loup-Garou
  • Plein air Sainte-Adèle (PASA)
  • Musée du Ski des Laurentides

Across Québec

The support project was delivered throughout Quebec thanks to the combined forces of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ) and the SADC and CAE Network. As part of the PAPETR project, 665 of the 1,040 companies assisted were supported through their local SADC or CAE.

“Thanks to their agility and in-depth local knowledge, SADCs and CAEs have been able to quickly identify, in collaboration with local tourism stakeholders, various types of businesses throughout Québec. The diversity of the 665 tourism companies assisted by our network reflects the regional tourism ecosystem. We are proud to have played a part in revitalizing this sector, whose prosperity is key to the economic development of our regions,” explains Pascal Harvey, General Manager of the SADC and CAE Network.

“In many cases, the assistance provided has made a significant difference to the organisations. As well as improving the customer experience and making our region more attractive to visitors, these investments will result in increased visitor capacity and therefore greater profitability,” says Sylvie Bolduc, General Manager of the SADC des Laurentides.
