Le Mentorat s’invite: come to the Mentorship meeting!

As part of the 20th anniversary of mentoring for entrepreneurs, members of the SADC des Laurentides mentoring cell will be taking part in a host of business events organized by the region’s economic development partners.

Through the “Le Mentorat s’invite” formula, mentors and the SADC des Laurentides Mentoring Coordinator will take part in the activities. “We want to take mentoring to our regional entrepreneurs and encourage it to flourish throughout the business community. We’re proud to have been offering this service for 20 years, and we want even more entrepreneurs to benefit from it,” comments Sylvie Bolduc, General Manager of SADC des Laurentides.

Our first event was the Saint-Sauveur Valley Chamber of Commerce and Tourism’s happy hour get-together on January 16. Two mentoring representatives were on hand to discuss and promote the service, which is often confused with coaching or consulting. From February to May, we will attend events organized by the Sainte-Adèle Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Mont-Tremblant Chamber of Commerce and Tourism and the Greater Sainte-Agathe Chamber of Commerce.

“Mentoring is beneficial to both mentor and mentee. Basically, it’s a relationship based on trust with a volunteer mentor, which enables the entrepreneur to better deal with the challenges he or she faces on a daily basis. It’s a real asset for entrepreneurs navigating in a complex environment,” emphasizes Josée Dufresne, Mentoring Coordinator.

About the Mentoring Service

The SADC des Laurentides mentoring service is possible thanks to the financial participation of the Pays-d’en-Haut RCM and the Laurentides RCM Economic Development Corporation. It is affiliated with the Réseau Mentorat, a regional organization that accredits and offers ongoing mentor training.
