For the last 16 years, the SADC des Laurentides entrepreneurial mentoring cell benefitted from the guidance and support of Richard Daoust,a dedicated mentor,. He has supported numerous entrepreneurs across all activity sectors since 2008.
“I’ve loved being a mentor and I still love it. It’s a privilege to be able to support entrepreneurs in their projects,” says the man who is known for his great diplomacy.
Louise Lapointe, who has worked alongside Richard for all these years, had this to say at the Christmas dinner for volunteers and the SADC des Laurentides team: “I’d like to pay tribute to your different sides, Richard: firstly, the person you are. Sensitive, open-minded, you’re interested in everything. When you take on a project, you put all your energy into it, you go into it with determination, daring and composure. Then there’s the mentor colleague: you’ve shown solidarity, a constant presence and an unfailing desire to help. Finally, I’d like to salute the mentor who takes his role to heart. You know the positive impact you’ve had on the entrepreneurs you’ve coached. Bravo for all that you have accomplished and good luck in all your future projects!”
Richard Daoust is a career administrator. He worked as Director of Finance and Technical Services from 1980 to 1998 before going on to become a project management consultant for more than 15 years.
